This MiniWind 2200W 48V comes complete with charge controller and regulator. (optional Hydraulic Tower).
The MiniWind battery charging range of turbines are designed for exposed or inland locations, where wind speeds are more moderate, and where a durable turbine is required. Suitable for charging large capacity battery banks of 24V or 48V (600Ah+) these turbines are supplied with a very user friendly, robust charge controller and regulator. A purpose designed, hydraulically operated, wind turbine tower is also available, offering a very substantial mounting installation for the entire MiniWind turbine range. The turbine can be mounted and operated using this or any other suitable tower type.
All MiniWind turbines are of the "Downwind" type, meaning that they face downstream of the wind direction. This minimises the number of moving parts in the system, thus minimising the maintenance requirements of the turbine. The 3-bladed rotor is 3.0m in diameter, with each blade being manufactured from a very high strength glass filled nylon. The outer cowling covers and protects the 2200W Permanent Magnet Generator, with all other parts being of galvanized heavy steel. The turbine controller connects to the 3-phase power output of the turbine, and monitors both the power output and temperature of it in all operating conditions. This allows the turbine to remain in operation in high wind speeds, when other turbines have shut down.
Main Benefits of Wind Renewable Energy:
Low noise, high output blade design produces a smooth yet powerful output, even in low wind conditions.
Rugged and simple construction allows the turbine to operate in high wind locations, where other turbines would shut down.
Produces 2.2kW in 12m/s winds.
Downwind design for simplicity and stability during operation.
Unique 3-phase Permanent Magnet Generator with temperature sensor at the heart of each turbine, producing reliable and predictable performance in all operating modes.
Hydraulic 9.5m tower, with Hydraulic power unit and 3000psi ram, for ease of erection and lowering of the turbine. (see separate tower information)
Full DIY installation.
Commissioning + Installation Note:
The Wind Turbine Installation service would typically cost between £1400 and £2500, with the "commissioned only" service being £400 typically.
Please note that the charge for commissioning and installation will be paid directly to our designated installer, The Solar Energy Alliance.
